DEIB Flagship1 DayIndia-SpecificREEL|Life Embedded

Elephant in the Room earns its name from the conversation most organisations are not having: that India's diversity challenge is specific, structural, and different from the Western DEIB frameworks that dominate most interventions. Caste, creed, region, religion, language, and generation are the live dimensions in the Indian workplace. This programme is designed for them. It moves beyond raising awareness of bias into the specific behavioural practices of inclusive leadership that participants can exercise on the day they return to work.

Duration

1 full day (8 hours).

Format

In-person. Manager or cross-functional cohort.

Customisation

India-specific diversity data, REEL|Life film per audience, bias focus calibration, sector scenarios, Men as Enablers companion programme.

The India Difference

Global DEIB frameworks were not built for caste, region, religion, and language.
The Indian workplace requires an Indian intervention.

01

Diagnose

Bias inventory, belonging audit.

Participants complete a structured bias inventory and belonging audit. The mirror exercise surfaces the dimensions on which they are advantaged and disadvantaged simultaneously, making privilege concrete and non-threatening.

02

Define and Dialogue

India dimensions plus REEL|Life.

India-specific diversity dimensions are named and explored. The REEL|Life session uses a carefully selected film scene to surface bias and belonging dynamics , emotionally engaging and cognitively safe.

03

Design and Deploy

Micro-inclusion practices plus charter.

Participants build specific inclusive leader practices and commit to a 30-day inclusion experiment charter. The commitment wall ensures the day produces observable commitment, not goodwill.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Clients Ask

A standard bias workshop produces awareness. Elephant in the Room produces awareness, an understanding of India-specific dimensions most global interventions miss, and a behavioural commitment participants leave with. The 30-day inclusion experiment charter is a written commitment to one observable behaviour change.
The name is an asset. It signals immediately that this is not a polite conversation about diversity statistics. Most participants respond positively to the directness.
Yes. Both are designed to run in sequence or simultaneously with different cohorts. When both are delivered, the inclusion commitments from both groups can be integrated into a shared team-level charter.

Frequently Asked About Elephant in the Room

What is Elephant in the Room?+

Elephant in the Room is ProventusHR flagship DEIB intervention that surfaces what teams know but do not say. It uses ExperienceLearning methodology to create honest structured dialogue about bias, inclusion and belonging.

Who is Elephant in the Room for?+

Designed for leadership teams and intact teams where psychological safety is low or DEIB commitments have not translated into daily behaviour.

How long does Elephant in the Room run?+

One full day standard. Two-day format available for leadership teams requiring deeper work. Always bespoke, never open-cohort.

What is Elephant in the Room?+

Elephant in the Room is ProventusHR's flagship DEIB programme. It surfaces the conversations about bias, exclusion, and belonging that most Indian organisations are not having. The programme is built for India's specific diversity reality, not adapted from Western frameworks. It is experiential, cinematic, and designed to produce measurable inclusion behaviour change rather than awareness alone.

Who is Elephant in the Room designed for?+

Elephant in the Room is designed for mixed-cohort groups across leadership levels - managers, senior managers, and leaders from different demographic backgrounds. It works most powerfully when the cohort reflects the actual demographic reality of the organisation, because the conversations surface in the room rather than in theory.

What outcomes does Elephant in the Room produce?+

The programme produces three measurable outcomes: leaders gain specific language for the bias patterns operating in their own teams; they develop a set of concrete inclusive leadership behaviours committed to publicly; and the cohort establishes a shared norm of psychological safety that persists beyond the programme.

What is unconscious bias training?+

Unconscious bias training is a structured learning intervention that helps individuals recognise the automatic, unintentional assumptions they bring to decisions about people. Effective unconscious bias training goes beyond awareness - it builds the habit of checking one's own decisions against specific bias patterns. Elephant in the Room is ProventusHR's unconscious bias and belonging programme, designed for the Indian organisational context.
